Designers hail Mira Kapoor’s fashion advice of keeping it comfortable, styling it right

From body gowns to suits, and comfortable Indian wear like saris, Mira Kapoor has consistently managed to up her fashion game. Revealing her fashion choices that stem from a basic understanding of comfort, she recently responded to a question on her fashion choices from a follower in an Ask-Me-Anything session on her Instagram Stories. “I keep it basic. Trends are not my thing,” said Mira.

She followed it up with some quick fashion advice. “Select good quality fabrics and pieces you can wear for years to come. Solid neutral colours work for me…just easier to style…and invest in accessories that can elevate your basics,” shared Mira.

Fashion designer Gautam Gupta praised Mira’s “impeccable fashion sense”, particularly emphasising the effectiveness of nude colours paired with accessories. “Her viewpoint resonates with the belief that blindly adhering to trends may not be the most suitable approach. In the contemporary fashion landscape, individuality takes precedence, recognising that what suits Mira may not necessarily complement someone else’s style,” shared Gupta.

In his perspective, the essence of fashion lies in its ability to seamlessly merge comfort and personal expression, “ultimately serving as an extension of one’s personality”. “It is this unique combination that radiates confidence, emphasising the importance of aligning one’s wardrobe choices with their individuality rather than conforming to fleeting trends,” Gupta told indianexpress.com.

Costume designer Nidhi Yasha concurred with Mira’s analysis and mentioned that personal signature style is everlasting. “Trends keep changing. Selection of good quality fabrics is paramount. And solid neutral colours for sure have perennial longevity. And also, a more sustainable way of existing on the planet,” mentioned Nidhi.
