Contestants from Miss World 2024’s Top 4 speak about their journey, extend wishes for Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszková

For those making it to the Top 8 and Top 4 of Miss World 2024 among 112 participants, it was nothing less than a dream. Indianexpress.com spoke to two of the top 4 on the sidelines of the global event that featured 112 contestants who battled it out for the crown for the past month. While the final 71st Miss World title went to Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszková, some of the top contenders who were equally impressive with their outfits and answers expressed their experience of the big stage in India as they wished the new Miss World a fulfilling journey ahead.

Miss World Africa Lesego Chombo from Botswana who made it to Top 4 expressed, “I feel very grateful. I am proud of the work that I have put in. I know I did my absolute best and I am content with the results. I am looking forward to whatever the next adventure is. I am going to enjoy the moment. I have spent so many years working towards this. Right now, I am not trying to make any commitments. I am trying to enjoy all of my achievements.”

Miss World Caribbean Aché Abrahams from Trinidad and Tobago who was also in the Top 4 expressed, “Everything happens for a reason. I feel great. I love the support and atmosphere. The experience was amazing. It was nerve-wracking too. I didn’t expect to get to the top 4. When I did, I felt proud. Even though, I didn’t win but I am proud to be in the Top 4 and to represent my country and the Caribbean region.

Talking fondly about the new Miss World, Aché told indianexpress.com, “I love Krystyna. She did a fantastic job. I am excited because I get to travel with them. I get to go to Mauritius. I get to see Miss World in action. I get to see my sisters (other contestants) who are representing their continents.”

On her experience in India, Aché shared, “India is beautiful. It reminds me of home because back home, we also have a lot of Indian influence as well as other cultures. When I landed, it felt very familiar. Even the climate is similar. I loved it and hope to be back a lot more times.”

Recall that the prestigious title was passed on by the reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska to Pyszková on March 9 in Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre.
