Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna turn showstoppers for Falguni Shane Peacock ahead of their film ‘Chhava’

The curtains fell on the FDCI India Couture Week 2024 with a dazzling finale by Falguni Shane Peacock. The show, a perfect amalgamation of luxury and modern aesthetics, had Bollywood stars Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, as the showstoppers. The duo are also co-starring in the upcoming film, ‘Chhava’.

Rashmika, breaking the conventional mould of showstoppers, opened the show in a resplendent white lehenga that featured intricate sequin and pearl embellishments. The cascading dupatta, adorned with delicate pearls, added a touch of drama to her ensemble. Vicky Kaushal complemented her in an ivory and gold bandh gala while closing the show, and created a harmonious pastel palette.

Falguni Shane Peacock’s ‘Rang Mahal’ collection, unveiled at the grand finale of the Couture Week 2024, was a mesmerising ode to India’s rich heritage. This showcase was a collaborative effort with Swadesh, a brand dedicated to preserving India’s textile legacy and supporting its artisans.

Inspired by the grandeur of royal palaces, the collection was a resplendent mosaic of colours, textures, and intricate craftsmanship. Kanjivaram silks, renowned for their opulence, were the foundation of this sartorial masterpiece. Adorned with real gold and silver zari, these saris exuded a regal aura.

The designers meticulously incorporated iconic Indian motifs such as peacocks, elephants, and floral patterns, bringing to life the splendour of the bygone era. Each piece was a testament to the skill and dedication of Indian artisans, who breathed life into the designs through intricate embroidery and weaving techniques.

Falguni Shane Peacock’s signature style was seamlessly blended with the traditional aesthetics of Indian textiles, resulting in a collection that was both contemporary and timeless. The inclusion of Banarasi brocade lehengas and Chikankari elements further enriched the ensemble, creating a truly unforgettable fashion experience.

“This collection celebrates the rich diversity and vivid hues defining our culture and tradition, drawing inspiration from India’s majestic symbols: resplendent parrots and peacocks, serene swans, powerful horses and elephants, magnificent tigers, mystical palaces, traditional diyas, the melodious sitar, the sacred banyan tree and peepal leaf, expressive mudras, fragrant roses, the spiritual conch, revered cows, intricate paisleys and Kashmiri thread work, the unparalleled Taj Mahal, and sparkling diamonds,” the collection note reads.
