Watch: President Biden wears ‘Trump 2024’ hat in Pennsylvania during 9/11 event

In a bizarre turn of events, President Joe Biden who was visiting Pennsylvania’s Shanksville to attend the 9/11 memorial event, was seen donning the ‘Trump 2024’ hat.

A day which is meant to honour those who died in al Qaeda’s terror attack, President Biden was seen engaging in a gimmick when he wore the ‘Trump 2024’ hat during a visit at the Shanksville Fire Station in Pennsylvania while interacting with firefighters.

The moment came after Biden traveled from New York City to Shanksville after he honored 9/11 victims with Harris.

Earlier in the day, President Biden along with Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump were seen together at the Ground Zero site in New York City where the planes struck the World Trade Centre’s twin towers on September 11, 2001 killing at least 3,000 people.

In a potshot at President Biden, Trump War Room posted a photo of the president donning the ‘Trump 2024’ hat on X and wrote, “Thanks for the support, Joe!”

Just last night in a presidential debate on ABC News, Republican candidate Trump targeted Democratic candidate Harris by stating that “Biden hates you”.

Defending President Biden’s action, White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates wrote on X, “At the Shanksville Fire Station, @POTUS spoke about the country’s bipartisan unity after 9/11 and said we needed to get back to that. As a gesture, he gave a hat to a Trump supporter who then said that in the same spirit, POTUS should put on his Trump cap. He briefly wore it.”

President Biden was earlier contesting the election for a second term but gave in to the growing demands within the Democratic Party for him to step down. Biden then made way for Vice President Kamala Harris to be Democrats’ presidential face.
