In the realm of fitness, achieving optimal results often requires innovative tools and techniques. TheraLoop and TheraBand have emerged as two prominent accessories revolutionising the fitness landscape. And its most recent proponent is none other than celebrity fitness instructor Yasmin Karachiwala, who demonstrated quick and effective exercises using the props.

What exactly are TheraLoop and TheraBand?

TheraLoop and TheraBand are distinct tools designed to enhance different aspects of fitness training. “TheraLoop is a resistance band with built-in loops at each end. These loops offer versatility in exercises by providing anchor points for your hands or feet. TheraLoop bands are typically made of latex or similar elastic materials, offering varying levels of resistance depending on their color or thickness. They are commonly used in strength training, rehabilitation exercises, and flexibility training,” Utsav Agrawal, an advanced trainer, tells indianexpress.com in an interaction.

On the other hand, TheraBands are resistance bands without loops at the end. “These bands come in various colors, each denoting a different level of resistance. TheraBands are versatile and can be used for strength training, stretching, and improving flexibility and mobility,” explains Agrawal.

Benefits

According to Agrawal, TheraLoop bands offer a wide range of exercises targeting different muscle groups and can be easily adapted to accommodate various fitness levels. Additionally, they are lightweight, compact, and relatively inexpensive, making them ideal for travel and home workouts. “TheraLoop bands provide resistance without the impact on joints that heavier weights can cause, making them suitable for individuals recovering from injuries or dealing with joint issues,” he added.

Meanwhile, TheraBands offer progressive resistance, meaning the resistance increases as the band is stretched, allowing for a challenging workout without the need for heavy weights. “TheraBands can be used for dynamic stretching exercises, helping improve flexibility and range of motion. Moreover, they are commonly used in rehabilitation settings to strengthen muscles, improve joint stability, and aid in recovery from injuries,” Agrawal shared.

Who should avoid

While these tools are generally safe for most individuals, individuals with latex allergies must use latex-free brands, and those with certain medical conditions or injuries must practice under the supervision of a qualified fitness professional or healthcare provider to ensure proper technique and safety.
