An Indian restaurant in Gurgaon just made it to the world’s 100 best pizza list

Indian restaurants are killing it on the global food scene! They’re not only taking traditional Indian flavours and mixing them up with international tastes but also perfecting the ones that already exist. And this is not going unnoticed.

A pizza place in Gurgaon, called Pizzeria da Susy, just made the top 100 pizza places in the world list. That’s right — India is now on the pizza map!

In an Instagram post, Chef Susanna Di Cosimo, who leads the kitchen at Pizzeria da Susy, says  “This is an incredible honour for us, and we are deeply grateful to represent India on such a prestigious stage.”

“To the curators of the Guide, a heartfelt THANK YOU! Your acknowledgment is more than just an award; it’s a profound source of inspiration that drives us to perfect our craft and aim ever higher each year. None of this would have been possible without our incredible, hardworking team and our loving customers. You are the heart and soul of everything we do, and our greatest joy is seeing the happiness of those who visit us. ❤️,” she went on to add.

Pizzeria da Susy’s menu offers a diverse selection of pizzas, ranging from traditional Neapolitan classics to innovative creations featuring unique ingredients like spinach, pumpkin, and smoked salmon.

This recognition follows their recent success in March, where Pizzeria da Susy secured the 13th position on the list of 50 best pizzerias in Asia Pacific for 2024. The official rankings website praised the restaurant for its authentic Neapolitan cuisine and diverse menu.

The Naples-based 50 Top Pizza Awards list has a rigorous evaluation process. Nearly 1,000 anonymous inspectors thoroughly review each pizzeria, assessing everything from the food to the atmosphere.

The global pizza ranking for 2024 was topped by Una Pizza Napoletana in New York City, followed by Diego Vitagliano Pizzeria and I Masanielli in Naples, and The Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo.

The list highlights the global reach of pizza culture, with countries like South Korea, Bolivia, and India – not typically associated with pizza – earning a spot.
