However, since weight loss requires consistent efforts and patience, it is important to always consult an expert before trying a viral remedy. As such, when we stumbled upon a reel promoting a concoction of dry ginger powder with turmeric, kalonji (black cumin), and lemon juice for weight loss, we had to get it verified.

Ingredients

1/2 spoon – Dry ginger powder
1 spoon – Black cumin/Kalonji/Karunjeeragam powder
Lemon juice
1 pinch of turmeric powder

Method

*In a pan, take a glass of water. Add dry ginger powder, black cumin, and turmeric powder.
*Let it simmer. Turn off the stove before it starts boiling.
*Strain and squeeze half a lemon.

Weight loss ultimately depends on a calorie deficit and a balanced diet. These ingredients should be used in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle, not relied upon as the sole means of weight loss,” said Dr Parveen.
