Crafted by 40 artisans, Jennifer Lopez’s Bridgerton-inspired dress took over 3,400 hours to make; features over half a million crystals

Jennifer Lopez turned 55 in style, throwing a lavish Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons and captivating everyone with a custom gown designed by our very own “local designer” Manish Malhotra. The dress itself was a showstopper, boasting intricate details and a unique blend of eras that perfectly complemented the party’s theme.

Taking to Instagram, Malhotra unveiled the meticulous process behind the elaborate design. The off-shoulder gown, featuring a voluminous skirt adorned with vintage brocade, was a true masterpiece of Indian craftsmanship.

Over 40 skilled artisans meticulously hand-stitched the dress, taking a staggering 3,490 hours to complete. A particularly striking detail was the floral motif meticulously crafted by hand from sequins and over half a million crystals, adding a touch of shimmering elegance.

While the Bridgerton series is set in the Regency Era, Malhotra incorporated some modern elements into the gown to create a truly unique look for JLo. A daring middle slit reaching her knees added a contemporary touch, ensuring the dress wasn’t just historically inspired but also undeniably glamorous.

To complete the look, JLo accessorised with elegant jewellery, including a dainty pendant and studs. Meshed gloves added a touch of drama, while a sophisticated bun with elaborate headgear kept her hair perfectly coiffed. Shiny chunky heels provided a final touch of glamour, perfectly complementing the overall ensemble.

The Bridgerton-themed party, held days prior to the birthday itself, transported guests to the world of the Ton with its vibrant colour palette and rich decor. JLo shared a video online offering a glimpse into the celebratory atmosphere, filled with music, dancing, and merriment. However, reports suggest her estranged husband, Ben Affleck, was not present at the festivities, adding a touch of mystery to the occasion.

Earlier, JLo took to Instagram to express her heartfelt gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support throughout her career. She emphasised their presence “in the good times and in the tough times,” acknowledging their loyalty and love.

According to media reports, JLo is currently prioritising self-care, focusing on rest, spending time with loved ones, and potentially prioritizing personal well-being after her documentary, “This is Me… Now,” didn’t achieve the anticipated response. This period of self-care comes after a whirlwind year that included the release of the documentary and rumours surrounding her personal life.
