The 77th Cannes Film Festival is underway in full swing and Bollywood actor Sobhita Dhulipala has made her much-anticipated debut.

For her first appearance at the star-studded event in the French Riviera, the Made in Heaven star opted for a purple Cordelia jumpsuit — which featured a plunging neckline, cut-out midriff, and fringes at the bottom — from designer Namrata Joshipura’s ‘The First Order’ collection. According to the designer’s website, it costs Rs 1.8 lakh.

As soon as the pictures of the actor made it to social media, hawk-eyed fans were quick to point out that the cape-sleeved dress was previously worn by Athiya Shetty at the 2023 Lakme Fashion Week.

While Shetty had kept it simple without any accessories taking away from the stunning piece, Dhulipala chose to accessorise with oversized hoops, sultry pink smokey eye, and a hint of colour on her lips. We loved how she let her curly hair do all the talking.

This year, digital creator Ankush Bahuguna also made his Cannes debut, opting for a purple kurta set with an kaleidoscopic shrug and a scarf adorned with floral prints by Torani. Taking to Instagram, the YouTuber expressed his adoration and personal connect with the designer:

“Day 1 at #Cannes2024 wearing a designer who truly embraces Indian heritage & culture, @toraniofficial. I’ve known @karantorani for a long time now & to see him evolve into such a fine designer & express his love for his roots through clothes is inspiring to say the least. And that’s what I’ve learnt in the last few years too – beauty is self expression. So the first Cannes moment just had to be this. A young heritage look with a modern twist of OmBrows✨”

Bahuguna was invited to be a panelist at the prestigious Bharat Pavillion at the Film Festival to share his insights on authenticity in content creation & storytelling. The creator “enjoyed every bit of it” of the event.

“Here’s to men embracing their truest selves, be it through makeup, fashion, or any kind of art. It doesn’t make you any less of a man :),” he adds in his Instagram caption.
