In a startling revelation, a supporter of former President Donald Trump has pleaded guilty of bear-spraying law enforcement officers during the January 6 Capitol riot, and his photo also featured in President Joe Biden’s ad in early 2024.

Andy Steven Oliva-Lopez admitted that he hit three officers during the attack on the US Capitol on January 6 and he temporarily blinded two of them.

Netizens have dubbed him as ‘Blue Plaid Sprayer’ as he was wearing a blue shirt on the day he attacked the Capitol, along with a helmet and a gas mask, when he ferociously sprayed at the officers who were protecting the Capitol.

His sentencing is set for January 17, 2025 just days ahead of the coronation of the new President of the United States in the Capitol Hill which could be either former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris.

Before Lopez was arrested in early 2024, a picture of Oliva-Lopez pepper-spraying officers featured in the ad campaign of President Joe Biden and also in the presentation of the Capitol Hill riot by the US Attorney Matthew Graves.

And on January 23, 2024 Lopez was arrested by the FBI. According to FBI, “In the 44 months since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 1,504 individuals have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 560 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, a felony. The investigation remains ongoing.”

Republican nominee Donald Trump himself faces four cases related to the Capitol riots on January 6 and the efforts he put to overturn his electoral defeat against President Joe Biden.

Trump has pleaded not guilty in the case and the trial can only move ahead if he loses the upcoming US Presidential elections, scheduled for November 5.
