Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah on Thursday issued a warning to the Benjamin Netanyahu administration that that it will not be able to facilitate the return of its residents to northern Israel, while firmly asserting that military escalations, including killings, assassinations, or an all-out war, will not lead to the return of these residents to the border area.

In his first remarks following the recent serial pager and radio blasts, Nasrallah asserted that the Lebanese front will not halt its operations until the war in Gaza comes to an end, reported Reuters. He emphasized that, regardless of the potential consequences, the resistance in Lebanon will steadfastly continue to support Gaza in its struggle.

Nasrallah further stated that the recent attacks have not impacted Hezbollah’s command, control, or infrastructure, indicating the group’s resilience amidst escalating tensions.

He noted that top officials within Hezbollah do not use the pagers that exploded, and he highlighted that the group has significantly increased the readiness of all its weapons and fighters.

In a more provocative tone, he expressed hope that Israel would choose to enter southern Lebanon, suggesting that such an action could create a “historic opportunity” for Hezbollah to strengthen its position and influence in the region. This rhetoric underscores the ongoing volatility and complexity of the conflict as both sides prepare for potential further confrontations.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Defence Forces took to social media platform X and declared that it is actively targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon to weaken the group’s terrorist capabilities and infrastructure.

“For many years, Hezbollah has utilized civilian homes for military purposes, constructed tunnels underneath them, and used civilians as human shields, effectively transforming southern Lebanon into a combat zone,” read the post.

The IDF declared that it aims to restore security to northern Israel, facilitating the return of residents to their homes and achieving its military objectives.
