I did bit of a blunder in my previous show: AB de Villers issues another apology to Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma

After taking a U-turn on his comments regarding Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma expecting their second child and clarifying that he shared a “false information” on his YouTube channel, AB de Villiers once again issued an apology to Kohli and his family.

“My friend Virat Kohli is still not available. I cry out to everybody to give him the privacy that he deserves. Family comes first. No one knows what exactly is going on. I am asking all of us to respect that. I did bit of a blunder in my previous show and I apologize to the Kohli family for that,” he said in a YouTube live on Saturday.

Kohli will miss the remainder of the England series due to personal reasons, as announced by the BCCI on Saturday while sharing the squad for the remaining three Tests against England.

“Virat Kohli will remain unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series due to personal reasons. The Board fully respects and supports Mr. Kohli’s decision,” BCCI said in a statement.

Three days before the series began, Kohli had told the Indian team management and selectors that he wanted a break. In its press release, the BCCI had stated that, ‘While representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention. The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter’.

“Family comes first it’s the priority as I said on my YouTube channel,” De Villers told Dainik Bhaskar on Friday. “I made a terrible mistake at the same time, sharing false information, which was not true at all. I think whatever’s best for Virat’s family comes first. No one knows what’s happening there, all I can do is wish him well. Whatever the reason for his break, I hope he can comeback stronger, better and fresh from this,” he had added.

About a week ago, De Villers had shared excerpts from the texts which he and Kohli had exchanged which had confirmed that the Indian star was expecting a child.
