Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals Playing 11, IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant will be looking for a much better performance from his side when the Delhi Capitals visit the Sawai Mansingh Stadium to take on a strong Rajasthan Royals unit. In the last match, the DC batting unit failed to fire and ended up losing to Punjab Kings by 4 wickets.

As for the Royals, they are coming into Thursday’s match with a load of momentum behind them after defeating the Lucknow Super Giants by 20 runs courtesy of a dazzling batting performance of their skipper Sanju Samson and their bowling attack consisting of Trent Boult, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Riyan Parag experiment at Number 4 continues

Riyan Parag has been playing for Rajasthan in what seems like an eternity now but haven’t come close to matching his potential for the franchise in the last couple of IPL seasons. Deployed more as a finisher, when sent out to bat, he most often than not had few balls left to make an impact. But this season, the Royals have slightly tweaked their batting lineup. Against the Lucknow Super Giants, Parag was sent out to bat at No.4 and he grabbed his chance with both hands scoring 43 in 29 balls while keeping his sipper Samson company. Against Delhi, expect to see the same pattern continue.

Anrich Nortje might play a part for Delhi

The South African speedster was a big miss in the last game against Punjab with his express pace giving an extra edge to the DC lineup. He has finally joined the Delhi camp and will likely be slotted into the team to lead the pace bowling lineup alongside Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed.

Shai Hope to get another chance

The Delhi Capitals had shocked the world when they dropped Prithvi Shaw in the last match against Punjab Kings and gave a debut to swashbuckling batter West Indies batter Shai Hope who scored 33 runs from 25 balls. While DC might make a knee jerk reaction and bring Shaw in, they are more likely to keep faith in Hope for at least another match.

Delhi Capitals Predicted XI: David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (C/WK), Tristan Stubbs, Abhishek Porel, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, Anrich Nortje, Khaleel Ahmed

Rajasthan Royals Predicted XI: Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (C & WK), Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, Ravichandran Aswhin, Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma, Avesh Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal
