Ananya Panday’s recent performance in Call Me Bae has been praised by fans, who believe she’s playing a version of herself on the show. Now, a video of her meeting her nephew, River, for the first time has gone viral — and honestly, her reaction is so Bae!

Ananya’s cousin, Alanna Panday, welcomed her son, River, with her husband, Ivor McCray, a few months ago. During a recent visit to India, Ananya and her family met the baby for the first time. Alanna posted a video capturing the heartwarming moment as Ananya squeals with delight and holds her nephew.

Alanna had planned to surprise Ananya, so she was told a pooja was in the house. When she came in, she saw her nephew and exclaimed, “Where’s the pooja? Wait, whose child is this?” Ananya asked her mom, Bhavna Panday, who had accompanied her, “That’s not Alanna’s child, right?”

Ananya soon caught on: “Am I imagining? Are you kidding? Stop it! Oh my god. I knew it; there’s a camera.”

The actor seemed completely taken with her nephew, saying, “He’s so cute. Can I touch him? Oh my god, he’s so fat. I love him.” Her mom, Bhavana, cheekily replied, “You can’t body shame a baby.”

It got even cuter when Ananya placed her nephew on her lap. She seemed to be a little (read: a lot) confused about how to hold such a small baby. “I’m scared. What do I do? Where do I keep my hands?” When Alanna and Ivor guided her, and she finally had baby River deposited firmly on her lap, Ananya exclaimed, “Oh my god, he loves me!”

When her family members asked her to rock him, Ananya funnily started rocking herself, inviting teasing remarks from her family: “Rock him, not yourself, Ananya.”

Ananya has a special bond with her nephew. Like many aunts, she’s already spoiling and showering him with love.
