Who is Alicia Kaur?

Hailing from Australia, Alicia Kaur is a Mumbai-based model who has captured the nation’s attention. A decade-long presence at Lakme Fashion Week has solidified her status as a fashion industry stalwart.

Kaur’s journey into modeling began remarkably early. In a candid interview with Elle India, she revealed that her first modeling gig occurred at the tender age of three, igniting a lifelong passion for the industry.

“I did my first modelling job when I was 3, and was addicted to the idea of becoming a model. I tried my hand at childhood modelling and acting but I wasn’t so successful; I was rejected at least 45 times by agencies in Melbourne, Australia (where I’m from). Finally, by 19 I signed with a reputable agency, but once I was signed it still wasn’t easy, I still had to hustle and work part-time to support myself,” she told Elle India.

Despite early aspirations, Alicia’s childhood modelling and acting dreams faced numerous setbacks. Rejected 45 times by agencies in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia, she persevered. By 19, she had secured representation but still struggled, balancing modeling with part-time jobs.

It wasn’t until the age of 23 that Alicia found her calling. After exploring opportunities in China and Europe, she arrived in India. “India is home,” she expressed, adding, “I always dreamt of finding the perfect country abroad where my look would suit the best. So I kept on searching and at 23 after visiting multiple destinations like China and Europe, I found India and I’m so grateful! India is home and I love my work and lifestyle here. I’m so glad I never gave up.”
