Nita Ambani looked breathtaking at her son Anant Ambani’s wedding with his childhood sweetheart Radhika Merchant. For the joyous occasion she donned a custom-made ‘Ranghaat’ ghagra by renowned design duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

This exquisite ensemble embodies Nita Ambani’s vision of celebrating Indian craftsmanship while sharing her country’s cultural heritage on a global stage. The peach silk ghagra features a stunning combination of vintage bronze, blushing pink, and pistachio green hues.

Adding to the regal aura, the ghagra is paired with a meticulously crafted jaali blouse. Made from naqshi and saadi gold, the blouse boasts intricate silver zardozi work and a dazzling sprinkle of Swarovski crystals.

The pièce de résistance is the hand-crafted ‘Ranghaat’ dupatta, created by the master artisans of Swadesh. The dupatta boasts vibrant pastel shades, perfectly complementing the ghagra’s luxurious elegance.

This is not the first custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla outfit Nita is wearing for the wedding festivities. The Reliance Foundation chairperson wore a custom Guajarati Tharad lehenga from the designer duo for Anant and Radhika’s Sangeet ceremony.

The showstopper was a peacock emerald green tharad lehenga, meticulously adorned with hand-embroidered soni work. Tiny mirrors embedded within the intricate patterns shimmered with each step. The lehenga was paired with a royal blue satin silk dupatta and a meticulously crafted golden blouse that was embellished with silver threadwork. A matching chandan haar perfectly complemented the lehenga’s grandeur.

Nita has long been advocating for Indian art and crafts and it seems to have culminated in her looks and inspiration for the wedding.

The mother of the groom earlier in the day unveiled plans to infuse the wedding celebrations with the essence of Kashi, as Varanasi is also known. In a video of her paying ode to Kashi, she says, “For me and my family it has always been important to seek the blessings of our devis and devtas, before any auspicious beginning.”

She continues, “I’ve always been fascinated by Kashi, the oldest living city… the city of light, the cradle of Indian civilisation. Throughout Anant and Radhika’s wedding celebrations, we have tried to pay tribute to India’s glorious culture and heritage brought alive by thousands of artisans, karigars, weavers and craftsmen.”
