Radhika Merchant, bathed in sunshine hues, celebrated her haldi ceremony on July 8 at Anant Ambani’s family home, Antilia, in Mumbai. Styled by celebrity fashionista Rhea Kapoor, the bride-to-be looked radiant in a vibrantly embroidered yellow lehenga by couturier Anamika Khanna.

Radhika’s elegance shone through as she completed the ensemble with floral jewellery. Radiant skin, a small red bindi, and a touch of nude lipstick completed her stunning bridal glow.

The contemporary Indian silhouette was accentuated by a breathtaking floral dupatta adorned by the bride-to-be. This unique piece featured a fresh floral “tagar jaal” design, meticulously crafted with genda flowers and thousands of individual “tagar kalis.”

The complementary floral theme extended to the exquisite jewellery, designed by Srishti Kapur of Floral Art. Crafted from fresh white tagar kalis, the jewellery included earrings, tassel-adorned tops, a double necklace with a choker, haath phool (hand ornament), and floral kaleeras.

In an interview with indianexpress.com, Srishti revealed the last-minute nature of the project. Rhea Kapoor’s team contacted her just the night before the ceremony, requiring a rapid turnaround. Despite the time constraints, Srishti and her team of five managed to complete the stunning jewellery set in just six hours.

“It was all very hectic. It took 6 hours and 5 people to make the jewellery completely. They wanted the look to be minimalistic and not overshadow Radhika, who is petite. We were asked to use more of white flowers as the outfit would be yellow,” she said. Though Srishti was also asked to make the ‘phoolon ki chaadar’, her team was unable to do so because of time constraints. “Their local florist made the dupatta, according to my knowledge,” the designer told The Indian Express.

The captivating look was brought to life using three types of flowers: fragrant tagar kalis, cheerful yellow button daisies, and delicate Thai rui (crown) flowers, Srishti further revealed.

The highly anticipated wedding of Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani is scheduled for July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. Their pre-wedding festivities commenced with a puja ceremony held on June 29 at the Ambani residence.
