Radhika Merchant, the soon-to-be bride of the Ambani family, captivated audiences with her elegant and culturally significant attire during her mameru ceremony. A true fashion icon, Radhika has been showcasing her style versatility throughout her pre-wedding celebrations.

For the Mameru ceremony, Radhika chose a bespoke lehenga by renowned designer Manish Malhotra. The lehenga, boasting a vibrant Rani pink hue, was a unique blend of traditional Bandhani craftsmanship and rich Banarasi brocade.

Manish Malhotra shared details about the exquisite outfit on his social media platform. The lehenga’s skirt, crafted from a staggering 35 meters of Bandhani fabric, featured intricate Gujarati prints. Delicate gold zardozi taar embroidery adorned the ghaghra, further elevating its beauty.

A touch of divine inspiration was woven into the lehenga’s borders, embroidered with the Durga Maa shloka. This detail added a spiritual dimension to the ensemble. Manish Malhotra also revealed that Radhika’s choli drew inspiration from a vintage koti design.

The bride looks to be inspired by her soon-t0-be mother in law Nita Ambani, who recently wore a red silk Benarasi sari embellished with the gayatri mantra on its pallu.

Complementing the stunning lehenga was a regal set of gold jewellery, passed down from Radhika’s mother, Shaila Merchant. The set, originally worn by Shaila Merchant at her mausalu ceremony (another term for Mameru), comprised a choker, earrings, maang teeka, bangles, and a beautiful hair accessory. Stylist Rhea Kapoor confirmed that these heirloom pieces added a touch of family history and tradition to Radhika’s Mameru look.

Radhika Merchant’s Mameru ceremony attire perfectly embodied the essence of a modern bride embracing her cultural heritage. The custom-made lehenga, combining traditional techniques with a contemporary silhouette, highlighted her unique style. The heirloom jewellery added a sentimental touch, creating a truly unforgettable look.
