Imagine unwinding by a private pool, indulging in South Indian cuisine, and learning beauty secrets from a Bollywood star – all in Janhvi Kapoor’s stunning beachfront home! For the first time, now you can rent Janhvi’s Chennai home, which was the first-ever home that her mother and legendary actor Sridevi bought.

Nestled on Chennai’s serene coast, Janhvi’s home is more than just a residence; it’s a haven brimming with cherished memories. Did you know Sridevi painstakingly built up the home after getting married to her Boney Kapoor? The house even has many of Sridevi’s own paintings- including her first. Guests will have the privilege of experiencing this rich Kapoor family legacy firsthand.

With artefacts from around the world, the Kapoor clan’s Chennai home is an amalgamation of traditional yet contemporary styles, housing exquisite sculptures, a secret room and a Greek-themed bathroom. Janhvi herself will welcome guests and embark on a private tour, showcasing the home’s unique details. From handcrafted sculptures to airy living spaces, every corner reflects a focus on relaxation and well-being.

“I’m excited to share our family’s rituals,” expressed Janhvi in a press release, adding that guests will get a chance to unwind like the Kapoors – “chilling by the pool, enjoying some of our favourite meals, practising yoga, trying my mother’s natural skin care recipes, and most importantly, making special memories.”

Her dad Boney Kapoor has a plush office in the home, surrounded by pictures of his family, as Janhvi revealed in a house tour with Vogue India last year.

Janhvi shared that the original decor of the house, which Sridevi collected from all around the world over the years was destroyed by leakage and maintenance issues. Apart from some rooms with original decor, the whole house was redesigned by Boney.

The house has a secret room in the dining hall, which Janhvi claimed to know nothing about in the same interview. Along the stairs is a memorabilia wall — Sridevi’s idea — showcasing the history of both Sridevi’s family and the Kapoor clan.

The experience goes beyond sightseeing. Guests can unwind by the pool, relish meals featuring Janhvi’s favourite dishes, and even learn her secret skincare routine, passed down to her from her mother. Janhvi has previously talked about the skincare secrets she learnt from Sridevi.

Janhvi had shared in a 2021 interview with Brides Today, “Mom would take whatever was leftover from breakfast and apply it on herself so I’ve been trying to do the same thing.” She had also shared, “Just keep putting food on your face, fruit particularly. Right now, I’ve been using a lot of papaya.”

“[Mom] would make our hair oil at home with dried flowers and amla, and she’d make sure she gave me and Khushi an oil massage every three days,” Janhvi had revealed about the haircare routine the late Sridevi created for them, in a 2018 Vogue interview.

“This home has always felt like a sanctuary,” said Janhvi in the press release. “I’m excited to share our family’s rituals and create lasting memories for our guests.” This unique Airbnb experience offers a rare glimpse into Janhvi Kapoor’s life and a chance to unwind in a truly extraordinary setting.
