Nearly 1,000 pages of documents relating to child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein were released on Wednesday as the US district court for the southern district of New York ordered the unsealing of defendant and plaintiff files.

It had all started with a 2015 lawsuit against Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell by one of his victims, Virginia Giuffre. Epstein was initially arrested in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2005 after he was accused of paying a 14-year-old girl for sex followed by dozens of other underage girls describing similar sexual abuse. After serving 13 months in a jail work-release program, he was charged with sex-trafficking by federal prosecutors in New York in 2019. He killed himself in jail while awaiting trial.

The records reveal the names of public figures known to have associated with Epstein over the years.

Here’s a list of prominent personalities who have been named in the records:

Prince Andrew: The most interesting details came from depositions involving Giuffre, who claimed that Epstein and Maxwell forced her into a sexual encounter with Prince Andrew at the age of 17. The records mention the 2009 deposition of a former housekeeper at Epstein’s home in Palm Beach, Florida who talked about how much time the financier spent with Prince Andrew, the British royal who was a longtime friend of Maxwell’s.

Juan Alessi, who worked at Epstein’s sprawling home from 1990 to 2002, revealed that “Prince Andrew spent weeks with us” and that he stayed in the main guest bedroom, which he described as “the blue room.” Prince Andrew was publicly criticized when photos emerged of him visiting Epstein in New York. Giuffre sued Andrew for sexually abusing him at the age of 17, but the lawsuit was settled in 2022 without ever going to trial.

According to the Guardian, the documents also contain allegations that Epstein forced a woman to have sexual relations with Prince Andrew when she was a minor at Ghislaine Maxwell’s flat in London, in New York, and on Epstein’s private island in the US Virgin Islands “in an orgy with numerous other underaged girls”.

Bill Clinton: Bill Clinton: Johanna Sjoberg, whom Maxwell allegedly procured mentioned the former US president, and said she was forced to perform sex acts on Epstein, being naked for a quarter to half of all massages. Sjoberg testified that “[Epstein] said one time that Clinton likes them young, referring to girls.” Moreover, Giuffre alleged in the email to Sharon Churcher, a Mail on Sunday journalist that “B. Clinton walked into VF and threatened them not to write sex-trafficking articles about his good friend J.E.”

Donald Trump: In Sjoberg’s deposition, she said she was flying with Epstein and Giuffre when they went to one of Donald Trump’s casinos in Atlantic City because a storm meant their plane had been diverted from New York City to Teterboro airport. “Jeffrey said, great, we’ll call up Trump and we’ll go to… the casino,” she said. Sjoberg, however, added that she never gave Trump a massage, according to Guardian.

Stephen Hawking: Although unaccused in a crime related to Epstein, according to The Guardian, the name of late Cambridge physicist Stephen Hawking, was included in a 2015 email in which Epstein told Maxwell to offer a reward to any of Giuffre’s “friends acquaitonts [sic] family” who could prove false an allegation that Hawking had participated in an “underage orgy” in the Virgin Islands.

Alan Dershowitz: One of the unsealed documents reveal that Epstein forced then-minor Jane Doe #3 to have sexual relations with former Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, who was a close friend of Epstein’s and well-known criminal defense attorney. Responding to the claims, Dershowitz told US media outlet Newsnation, “I want everything out, every document, every piece of paper, half-truths or lies.” “I know that they would prove what I’ve said from day one — that I did nothing wrong,” he said.

David Copperfield and Michael Jackson: Sjoberg said she met Jackson at Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion, and Copperfield, who she said was a friend of Epstein’s. Sjoberg refused when asked if she massaged Jackson. Regarding Copperfield, Sjoberg alleged he attended dinner at one of Epstein’s homes and “did some magic tricks”.

Bill Richardson: Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson was also named by Giuffre claiming that she was pressured into having sex with men in Epstein’s social orbit.

George Mitchell: Former US Senator George Mitchell was one of those named by Giuffre claiming that she was pressured into having sex with men in Epstein’s social orbit.

Glenn Dubin: Billionaire Glenn Dubin was also named by Giuffre claiming that she was pressured into having sex with men in Epstein’s social orbit.

Jean-Luc Brunel: A French modeling agent close to Epstein, Jean-Luc Brunel, was awaiting trial on charges that he raped underage girls when he killed himself in a Paris jail in 2022.
