The United Arab Emirates’ National Center of Meteorology (NCM) on Tuesday, issued a yellow alert for dust till Wednesday. A statement from the NCM stated that the hefty winds have led to a sink horizontal visibility of less than 2000 meters.

The NCM forecast of northwesterly winds, with outreach speed of up to 40km/hr carrying dust and dirt is likely to last till the evening.

The weather alert in the UAE for the day is partly cloudy over some northern and eastern areas with a chance of rainfall in some areas. Fog or mist is predicted in coastal and internal areas till Wednesday, with probable humidity at night.

Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the maximum temperature can go up to 41 degrees celsius and 39 Celsius while the minimum temperature is expected to be 24 degree Celsius.

In the aftermath of the unprecedented torrential rains last week, the Dubai International Airport has managed to resume full operations in just a week after the resultant floods left thousands of passengers stranded. The airport returned to its normal flight schedule, handling around 1,400 flight movements every day.

Dubai Airport CEO Paul Griffiths said, “It has been the most challenging adverse weather event we’ve had to navigate, and our people and partners worked tirelessly to keep the operation running and to assist our guests.” He said that 31 flights were diverted to Dubai World Central (DWC), and by April 19, all guests at the airport were successfully supported and continued onwards to complete their travel plans.
