Susan Sarandon's son has spoken out about his mother being dropped from her talent agency following comments she made at a pro-Palestinian rally.

Miles Robbins, the son of Sarandon and actor Tim Robbins with the couple no longer being together, took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to thank those supporting his mother, but to also make one request.

Sarandon was recently let go by her management, United Talent Agency (UTA), with a UTA spokesperson confirming that to Newsweek on Tuesday. The decision stoked speculation there could be a "new Hollywood blacklist."

The star has been vocal about her support of Palestine by sharing her thoughts on social media, and she spoke at a rally on November 17.

The rally followed the events that took place on October 7, when Hamas launched a surprise attack on southern Israel, killing more than 1,000 people and taking 240 hostages. Israel subsequently launched its heaviest-ever airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, followed by a ground invasion. As of Tuesday, more than 12,700 Palestinians had been killed in Gaza, the Associated Press reported.

Robbins is a musician and actor, appearing in films such as Old Dads, which came out this year, and 2018's Halloween.

Standing up for his mother, from his account @smilesguthrie, he said: "Ok I'm really grateful to see people on Twitter defending my mom amidst a new era of McCarthyist blacklisting but can you PLEASE stop using the clip of her getting her hair done with her honkers out."

His account is followed by Sarandon's account @SusanSarandon, and although not verified through X's protocol, he has 12,500 followers, and at the time this article was published, the post had been viewed 2.3 million times by users of the app.

The post has been a talking point online by fans and social media users in general.

"He's iconic like his mother," a fan proclaimed online, while another added: "This is my favorite tweet of the day."

A third joked: "Posting exclusively Modest Sarandons for the sake of her son," while sharing several images of Sarandon.

A loyal fan of Sarandon commented: "So it is true what they say about people with hot moms having to go through hell for it lmaooo."

The post by Robbins going viral was many people's introduction to the fact Sarandon had a son with comments like: "This is how I found out Miles Robbins' mom is Susan Sarandon" and: "It took me a second to realize this is Susan Sarandon's son."

Sarandon has two sons with Robbins, Miles and Jack Henry Robbins, and a daughter, Eva Amurri from another relationship.

The clip in question is a previous video, that can be seen online here, with Sarandon sitting down and talking while in a black lace brassiere getting her hair and makeup done, presumably for an event, premiere, or interview. The video has also been made into a gif, which some X users were replying to Robbins' post with.

Robbins' comment has also been greeted with multiple social media users praising Sarandon's looks and sharing other images of the star that they like.

Sarandon's outspokenness has been met with both support and opposition by celebrities, with comedian Rob Schneider calling her "out of touch" and saying that: "Her anti-Jewish comments are regrettable."

Among her supporters are political activist and social critic Cornel West, journalist and host of the podcast Pushback with Aaron Maté Aaron Maté, and comedian, writer, podcaster, journalist and commentator Lee Camp.

Newsweek has reached out to Miles Robbins' manager via email for comment.
