Claudia Conway, the daughter of former Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, has spoken out against the "governments and authorities" that she says have "blood on their hands" over the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

On October 7, Palestinian militant group Hamas led the deadliest attack on Israel in history, killing more than 1,200, according to figures from the Israeli military. Hamas said the attack was retribution for worsening conditions for Palestinians under Israeli occupation.

Israel subsequently launched its heaviest-ever airstrikes on Gaza, following the launch of "Operation Swords of Iron." Israel has been pummeling the sealed-off and densely populated Gaza Strip with airstrikes. Israel has also stopped entry of food, fuel and medicine into Gaza, worsening the humanitarian conditions in the tiny territory of 2.3 million people.

On Tuesday night, there was an explosion at the al-Ahli Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Health Ministry, led by Hamas, said some 500 people—many of them displaced under an Israeli evacuation order—were killed in the explosion.

Palestinian militants and officials said the cause was an Israeli airstrike, while Israel Defense Forces (IDF) personnel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed an errant rocket fired from Gaza by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group.

Before the hospital blast, at least 1,400 Israelis and at least 2,778 Palestinians had been killed, according to figures from The Associated Press. Nearly 200 people were taken hostage in the October 7 attack.

Amid the ongoing conflict, Claudia Conway, who turned 19 on Tuesday, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share her thoughts on the matter.

"My heart is shattered after seeing what has happened in the last 30 hours in Gaza and in Israel," she wrote in one post, adding that "no child should fear for their life, no child should watch their family perish, no child should be held captive, no child should be murdered for simply existing. I am praying for peace."

Claudia Conway reiterated that her "heart [was] shattered" after an X user showed her what was described as a will written by a child in Gaza.

The outspoken teen then took aim at the "governments and authorities" that she said were responsible for the loss of innocent lives in the region.

"All of these governments and authorities have innocent people's blood on their hands," she commented, adding three broken heart emojis. "When will it end[?]"

In a post that has since been pinned to the top of her X profile, the former American Idol contestant wrote on October 12 that she was "praying for peace today and everyday."

Claudia Conway's mother, Kellyanne Conway, is a former pollster who rose to national prominence as the manager of Trump's successful 2016 presidential campaign, later transitioning to a senior adviser role in the Trump White House. She has also developed a reputation as a Trump media surrogate, known for defending his many claims and stances across various news outlets.

Claudia Conway, her daughter with ex-husband and Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway, emerged in 2020 as a vocal critic of Trump and his presidency, despite her mother's positions.

Over the years, and throughout a tumultuous period in relationship with her mother, she has remained vocally opposed to the former president and many conservative political pursuits, including the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Around the time she first began publicly speaking out against former President Trump in 2020, Claudia Conway also hinted at turmoil in her relationship with her parents, claiming at the time to be "officially pushing for emancipation."

In the summer of 2021, Claudia Conway revealed in a TikTok post that she was on good terms with her mother, despite their political differences. On July 7, she tweeted a screenshot of a text exchange in which her mother excitedly informed of the release of a new Taylor Swift album. She also often has friendly online interactions with her father, another Trump critic.

Telling Bustle last December that she and her mother had been going to therapy sessions together, Claudia Conway said: "I'm not going to talk about my mom's trauma because it's her story, not mine. But when you have trauma that you have held onto for, let's say, 40 years of your life, and you have children, it is so hard to not pass that down to them."

The younger Conway added that she now has "all the respect in the world" for her mother for dealing with her past with her in therapy: "Being so young, it's really hard to understand why someone is treating you the way they are, especially when they're your mother and you look up to them so much. I've learned so much about her."
