WATCH: From arriving in a helicopter to fashioning a pull shot off Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma marks his arrival in Dharamsala

With the picturesque view in the backdrop and ahead of the fifth and final Test against England, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was the subject of camera flashes as he landed in the hill city of Dharamsala on a helicopter.

Sharma, alongside head coach Rahul Dravid, earlier on Tuesday accompanied Sports Minister Anurag Thakur at the inauguration of the Khel Mahakhumbh in Bilaspur district. Sharma also batted tennis ball throwdowns from Dravid, much to the delight of those in attendance at the event, and even dispatched a big pull shot off the Indian head coach. It was from the event that Sharma arrived to Dharamsala in a helicopter. Watch video:

It will a first instance of Dharamsala hosting a Test match since 2017, when India played Australia in a four-match decider. The HPCA Stadium had been slated to host the third India-Australia Test last year, which was shifted to Indore owing to poor outfield in Dharamsala.

Following their triumph in the Ranchi Test, which gave them an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series, the Indian team have enjoyed a week long break before arriving to Himachal Pradesh.

The England players on the other hand, were divided between two groups: one of which travelled to Bangalore, while the other to Chandigarh for enjoying golf.

Meanwhile, the Indian team had a rest day on Monday when they had a photo shoot for the T20 World Cup probables, who might be flown to the West Indies and USA in June. Players like Rinku Singh, who is not part of the Test team, were flown to Dharamsala and were seen posing for shutterbugs at the stadium.

Having won the first Test, England lost three in a trot as the hosts mounted a comeback to remain unbeaten in a Test series at home since Alastair Cook’s England bested them 2-1 in 2012.
