Ravichandran Ashwin is arguably one of the greats in the modern game. Not only he is a tricky customer with the ball but a reliable lower-order bat who has pulled India out of jail many times in the past. The Tweaker has been part of many memorable wins for India and also has played a crucial part in many of them.

Let us have a look at the records and milestones he has achieved on his way to the 100th Test match in Dharamshala

50 wickets in a calendar year

Ashwin has picked up 50 or more wickets in a calendar year four times which is on more occasions than any other bowler who played for the country.

Scoring a 100 and taking a 5-wicket haul in the match

Ashwin is the only Indian to score a ton and pick a five-wicket haul thrice in his career and is not far behind his spin twin Ravindra Jadeja who has achieved the same feat twice.

Most number of five-wicket and ten-wicket haul

Ashwin alongside Anil Kumble has the most number of five-wicket hauls (thirty-five times) and ten-wicket hauls (eight times) for India. The off-spinner picked them in 99 games compared to the latter who achieved the same feat in 32 games.

R Ashwin is fourth on the list for the maximum number of Man Of the Matches won in Test matches among Indians only behind Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Virat Kohli.

Fastest to reach landmark wickets

Ashwin is the fastest to reach 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450 and 500 wickets in Tests for India. Ashwin is also the second-highest wicket-tacker for India in the format behind Kumble who has 619 scalps to his name.
