Here is a look at all the records broken by Jaiswal during his record-breaking knock:

Jaiswal became the first Indian to convert the first three hundreds of his career to 150-plus scores.

The left-hander surpassed Rohit Sharma’s tally of 19 sixes (vs South Africa in 2019) for the most sixes by a batter in a bilateral Test sixes. No batter has scored as many Test sixes as Jaiswal since his debut in July 2023.

Jaiswal became only the third Indian batter to record two double centuries in a series after Vinoo Mankad (vs New Zealand, 1955-56) and Virat Kohli (vs Sri Lanka, 2017-18). He is also only the third Indian after Kohli and Vinod Kambli to achieve two double centuries in successive Test matches.

Jaiswal equalled Wasim Akram for the most sixes in a Test innings with 12 maximums.

Jaiswal became only the second batter to hit James Anderson for three sixes in an over in Tests. The only other batter being George Bailey at Perth in 2013 when Anderson conceded his most-expensive over (28). 21 runs by Jaiswal is also Anderson’s third-most expensive over ever.

Jaiswal is the third-youngest player to hit two Test double centuries, behind Kambli (21y 54d) and Don Bradman (21y 318d).

Jaiswal (545*) also broke Sourav Ganguly’s (534 against Pakistan in 2007) record for most runs by an Indian left-hander in a Test series at home.

India breaks sixes record

Led by Jaiswal’s enthralling onslaught, India also recorded their most sixes in a Test innings (18) and match (28). The 48* sixes struck by India in the series so far is also the best-ever by a team in bilateral series.
