Kiwi Ryan Fox has made a bright start to the weather-affected PGA Phoenix Open, carding a five-under 66 to sit tied for sixth after the first round.

After frost suspended play on the opening day, golfers faced a make-up day, with two rounds scheduled, but Fox quickly put himelf on the right side of the scorecard, with three birdies on the front nine holes.

He gave back two of those shots with bogeys at 10 and 12, but regained them both on the par-five 13th, where his second shot found the green and he holed the long put for eagle.
