‘Abhi lagenge 10-15 seconds aane mey’: Virender Sehwag teases Shoaib Akhtar for his long bowling run-up

Virender Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar were involve in a banter on the sidelines of the ILT20 in Dubai, where both the former cricketers are doing commentary.

Shoaib Akhtar has posted a video on X, where former India opener Virender Sehwag can be seen teasing the former Pakistan pacer about his long run-up.

“Hamaray pyaray Viru bhai @virendersehwag yeh batatay huay k mera lamba run up ko kitna intezar kerwata tha. And he feels it was a big distraction,” Akhtar posted on ‘X’.

In the video, Sehwag said: “Mai gardan neeche kar leta tha, maine kehta tha abhi lagega 10-15 seconds aane mey (I would keep looking down, knowing that it would take 10-15 second for him to finish his run-up).”

Akhtar than asked Sehwag, whether it used distract him?

Sehwag replied: “Matlab aap dekh rahe ho ki mind mey thoughts aate hai maarega … joote pe marega, beamer marega sar pe kahi toh marega (A lot of thoughts would run in mind. Will he hit my toes or a beamer on my head? He will hit somewhere).”

Earler this week, the duo were involved in another banter, where Akhtar was trying to take a dig at Sehwag, with Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis being the other two experts.

“I thought this interaction was only for bowlers. What is this gentle off-spinner doing here?” said Akhtar.

“Shoaib, it is my duty to hit first ball fours, not yours.” Sehwag replied.

In the meanwhile, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis also joined the video conference.

“Oh Viru, darna nahi. Last time jab hum teeno khel rahe the or tu apne chasme saaf kar raha tha (Don’t get afraid. Last time when we three were playing, you were wiping your glasses),” said Shoaib.

“Bawaal karna achhi baat hai, but control. Chasme saaf karke ab mein lenses pehenta hun tumahara khoobsurat chehera dekhne ke liye (It’s good to play mischief but in control. I have tuned to contact lenses to see your beautiful faces),” replied Sehwag.
