Kia ora and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the opening Twenty20 international between the Blackcaps and Bangladesh from Napier's McLean Park.

After the Blackcaps 2-1 triumph in the one-day international series, the two sides transition to the shortest format of the game for the first of three contests.

After resting some key players for the ODIs, the Blackcaps line-up looks decidedly stronger, welcoming back the likes of newly minted IPL star Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner and Tim Southee in Napier.

Returning to the scene of their nine-wicket demolition in the third ODI, Bangladesh will be out to keep their momentum rolling, as both teams build towards June's T20 World Cup in the West Indies and US.

We'll have all of the action from 7:10pm.

Squads:

New Zealand: Mitchell Santner (c), Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Jacob Duffy, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Ben Sears, Tim Seifert, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee

Bangladesh: Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Litton Das, Rony Talukdar, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Afif Hossain, Soumya Sarkar, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahedi Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib
