Former Blackcap Andre Adams will reunite with his former side, after being named bowling coach for this month's Twenty20 series against Pakistan.

The 48-year-old's short-term appointment will temporarily fill the void left by longtime bowling mentor Shane Jurgensen, who stepped down after last year's World Cup in India.

Adams played 47 internationals across three formats for New Zealand, notably appearing in 42 One Day Internationals, and taking 53 wickets at an average of 31.

Outside of international cricket, Adams also enjoyed a prolific career in English County Cricket, with stints across Nottinghamshire, Hampshire and Essex, before hanging up his boots in 2015.

After retiring from playing, Adams took up a role across the Tasman coaching New South Wales, and was credited for getting the best out of Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc in 2019.

More recently, Adams was the bowling coach with the White Ferns, and worked with the team on their tour of South Africa at the end of last year.
