Rahul Dravid’s son Samit Dravid included in India U-19 squad

Samit Dravid, son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid, included in India U-19 squad to face Australia U-19 in 3 one-dayers and two four-day matches. The 50-overs matches will be played in Puducherry, while the four-day games will be held in Chennai.

The 18-year-old all-rounder was currently making headlines for hitting a stunning six in the ongoing Maharaja T20 KSCA tournament. Playing for the Mysore Warriors, the youngster has scored 82 runs in seven outing with 33 being his highest total that he scored against Gulbarga Mystics.

Samit Dravid will be in action on Saturday in the second semifinal of the tournament, where his team Mysore Warriors will be locking horns against the Hubli Tigers.

Dravid junior, who has suffered a stress fracture last year has had a decent outings in the India’s U-19 domestic tournaments Vinoo Mankad and Cooch Behar. In the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Samit scored 122 runs in four innings with 87 his highest. Meanwhile, he has played a crucial role both with the bat and ball and helped Karnataka won the Cooch Behar Trophy. Samit mustered 362 runs in eight matches with three fifty plus scores and also picked up 16 wickets at an average of 19.31.
