The second day of the India vs South Africa 2nd Test at Centurion was delayed due to a light drizzle at the venue.

The day was supposed to start at 1 PM IST to make up for the lost time in the previous day but had to be pushed back to 1.55 PM IST due to rain.

According to AccuWeather, the match will likely be interrupted by rain as the day wears on with chances of showers during the afternoon and 13% probability of thunderstorms in the evening as well.

On Tuesday too, the start of the match was delayed due to wet patches on the outfield, according to media reports from South Africa. The toss, which was to happen at 1 pm IST was also pushed back.

The first day had to end an hour early as well when bad light halted the proceedings. Before that, Kagiso Rabada ran through the Indian batting lineup with KL Rahul being India’s lone resistance. The batter helped the visitors to 208/8 at stumps with just 59 overs bowled. Coming in to bat at six, Rahul remained unbeaten at 70 off 105 deliveries on a day none of the other Indian batters was able to claim 40 runs

The curator for the wicket, Brain Bloy, had said that there was heavy chance of rain on the first two days of the Boxing Day Test. “I don’t know what conditions will be like, whether we will get play on Day 1,” he had said before predicting cold conditions for the Test.

“You are seeing a forecast on Day 1 and Day 2. It doesn’t look very good. The sun is out for four days and, so there will be some purchases for spinners, offer turn and bounce; with the weather forecast, I don’t know how accurate it will be as there will be a lot of rain,” Bloy had told PTI on Saturday.
