ARCHERY

Women’s team event: QF to medal matches, From 5.45 pm IST

India’s wait for an archery medal has been long and painstaking but in Paris, the team events have shaped up well. First to go will be the women’s trio, who are in QF action and two wins away from a potential medal.

SHOOTING

10m Air Pistol Women’s Final: 3.30 pm IST

Manu Bhaker

After the heartbreak in Tokyo, Manu did well on Saturday to come through qualification and reach the final. On Saturday, she will face a tough ask in a loaded field to try and clinch a medal. Rifle shooters will be in qualification too.

India’s top-ranked singles shuttlers PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy kickstart their group-stage campaigns. Both of them have received comfortable draws in the group stage and will look to start off without any hiccups.

After just finishing outside the top three in Heat 1, Balraj will try to get back into the quarterfinals through repechage. Top two from each repechage race will remain in contention.

SWIMMING

Men’s 100m back, Women’s 200m free: 3.00 pm IST onwards

Srihari Nataraj, Dhinidhi Desinghu

India’s most recognised swimmer Srihari and the country’s youngest member of the contingent in Dhinidhi Desinghu will take to the pools and look to register their personal bests. They qualified through Universality quotas.

The four Indian singles players selected for the Table Tennis event will all be in action in the individual events, round of 16. Sharath, who was the flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony, and Manika will lead the charge.

Women’s Street Final: 8.30pm IST

The skateboarding women’s street final pits Brazil’s Rayssa Leal – who took home silver aged 13 in Tokyo – against the Japanese duo: narrow favourite Akama Liz, 15, and 14-year-old world number one Yoshizawa Coco.

Tennis

Men’s Singles 1st round: 3.30pm IST onwards

In what will be his last Olympics and probably his last tournament at Roland Garros, Rafael Nadal will take on Marton Fucsovics in the first round of the singles tournament. There are fitness concerns about Nadal but if he wins this, he faces Novak Djokovic in the next round.

Basketball

Men’s Group Phase: USA vs Serbia: 8.45 pm IST

The USA men’s basketball team’s quest for a record-extending 17th gold medal at the Olympics will begin on Sunday against Serbia in their Group C encounter. LeBron James & Co. are expected to face a stiff challenge against a team that will be led by three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic.
