India’s T20 World cup winning allrounder Hardik Pandya was given a hero’s welcome in Vadodara on Monday, a city where both he and brother Krunal Pandya had started their cricket careers in the Baroda team.

In a video released by PTI, Pandya, who helped India to their 2nd T20 World Cup trophy with three wickets in the final against South Africa, was seen waving at the sea of crowd from on top of a bus in a roadshow.

A few weeks ago, Pandya had become the first Indian player to become No.1 in the ICC men’s T20I allrounder rankings. He was tied with Sri Lanka skipper Wanindu Hasaranga.

On July 4, Pandya had taken part in the T20 World Cup victory parade in Mumbai’s Marine Drive and the celebration at Wankhede Stadium. He had shared a video along with the message on X.

“India, you mean the world to me! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the love.. these are moments that I will never ever forget! Thank you for coming out to celebrate with us, despite the rains! We love you so much! Celebrating with you is why we do what we do! We’re all champions! All 1.4 billion of us! Thank you Mumbai, thank you India,” his post read.

Rohit Sharma and the Indian team had kicked off their victory lap from Marine Drive atop an open bus. Enthusiastic fans thronged the streets, dancing to the rhythm of India’s triumph, and joyously heralded the arrival of the T20 World Cup champions.
