IPL Playoffs 2024 schedule and fixtures: With the Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals match getting abandoned due to rain, the Sunrisers Hyderabad finished the group stage in the second position. Both SRH and RR have the same points (17) after 14 games but SRH just edged RR due to a superior net run rate.

That means we now know who will play who in the playoffs with first-placed Kolkata Knight Riders taking on Sunrisers in the first Qualifier at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21 while the 4th placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru will take on Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator on May 22 in the same venue.

The winner of Qualifier one will go directly to the final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26 while the loser will face the winner of the Eliminator on May 24 to be the second team in the summit clash.

Here’s how each team qualified:

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals qualified after Lucknow Super Giants were defeated by the Delhi Capitals on May 14 which virtually took LSG out of contention of the play-offs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad became the third team to qualify for the playoffs after their match against Gujarat Titans was called off on May 16 due to incessant rain in Hyderabad.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs in their final league game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 18 to qualify for the playoffs.

To qualify for the Playoffs despite a defeat in this match, CSK had to ensure a defeat by no more than 17 runs. Chasing a 219-run target, CSK finished on 191 for seven. Despite their consistent losses, RCB made the qualification possible through their superior Net Run Rate (NRR) – the tiebreaker in case of equal points and wins for the four teams. RCB finished with an NRR of +0.459, followed by CSK (+0.392), DC (-0.377) and LSG (-0.667).
