IPL 2024 Orange Cap update: Sai Sudharsan moves to 4th after century and 210-run partnership with Shubman Gill against CSK

IPL 2024 Orange Cap Holder: Gujarat Titans’s Sai Sudharsan and skipper Shubman Gill demolished the Chennai Super Kings bowling attack and posted an opening partnership of 210 runs with both batters getting centuries. This led to Sudharsan moving into the 4th position in the Orange Cap race while Gill rose to 10th.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Virat Kohli extended his lead atop the runs tally in IPL 2024 as he scored 92 runs off 47 deliveries against Punjab Kings on Thursday at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Kohli became the first player to cross the 600 run mark this season and now boasts 634 from his 12 outings this year.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Travis Head had climbed third in the most runs tally for the season as he scored a blistering 89 against the Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson was now in the 5th spot after his 86 off 46 balls against Delhi Capitals in a knock laced with eight fours and six maximums.

Every year when the Indian Premier League (IPL) season comes around, a lot of eyes are on the players who score the most number of runs in the season, thereby getting the Orange Cap.

Last season, current Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the Orange Cap with 890 runs. He was followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis who scored 730 and Chennai Super Kings Devon Conway with 672. RCB’s Virat Kohli was at number 4 with 639 while Yashasvi Jaiswal came in at 5 with 625.
