WATCH: Shakib Al Hasan grabs selfie-seeking fan by his neck

Shakib Al Hasan is one of the biggest stars in Bangladesh cricket at the moment. So it’s natural that fans will want a piece of him. But one fan’s quest to get a selfie with Shakib turned ugly when Shakib lost his cool.

In a clip that surfaced on social media, Shakib is seen in conversation with other members of his team when a fan approaches the cricketer and asks for a selfie.

Shakib initially politely refuses. But the fan keeps insisting, trying to click Shakib from a distance.

That’s when things got ugly. In the clip, the Bangladeshi cricket star can be seen attempting to snatch the phone away. When the fan moves the phone away from Shakib’s grasp, the cricketer grabs him behind the neck and directs him out of the ground in an ugly scene.

According to media report in local media back in Bangladesh, the incident purportedly happened on the sidelines of a Dhaka Premier League match.

Shakib has earned a reputation for being involved in ugly scenes in the past. The all-rounder has been part of the Bangladesh national team cricket for a long time, having played 67 Tests, 247 ODIs and 117 T20Is from 2006 till now, Shakib is a legend in the country. He is currently the top-ranked all-rounder for Bangladesh in T20Is.

In ODIs, he is the second-ranked all-rounder while he ranks third in Tests for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh are yet to reveal their team for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and the Caribbean islands.
