IPL 2024 Orange Cap: KL Rahul enters the race, sits behind Virat Kohli, Riyan Parag and Rohit Sharma

IPL 2024 Orange Cap Holder: KL Rahul entered the top-five contenders for the Orange Cap race in the Indian Premier League 2024 with his best score of the season so far as he scored 82* against the Chennai Super Kings on Friday.

Rahul now has 281 runs from seven innings and has pipped Sunil Narine to become the fourth leading run scorer of the season.

On Thursday, Rohit Sharma had rose to third in the Orange Cap table after his 25-ball 36 against the Punjab Kings on Thursday. RR’s Riyan Parag became the second batter to cross 300 runs in the season with a quickfire cameo against KKR. Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson dropped to the fourth spot behind Narine.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli still leads the tally with 361 runs from seven innings.

Every year when the Indian Premier League (IPL) season comes around, a lot of eyes are on the players who score the most number of runs in the season, thereby getting the Orange Cap.

Last season, current Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the Orange Cap with 890 runs. He was followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis who scored 730 and Chennai Super Kings Devon Conway with 672. RCB’s Virat Kohli was at number 4 with 639 while Yashasvi Jaiswal came in at 5 with 625.
