IPL 2024 Orange Cap: Rohit Sharma moves to 3rd after his 36 runs against PBKS, Virat Kohli still in the lead

IPL 2024 Orange Cap Holder: Rohit Sharma rose to third in the Orange Cap table after his 25-ball 36 against the Punjab Kings on Thursday.

KKR all-rounder Sunil Narine bolted into the top five of the leading run-scorers of the IPL 2024 season after smashing his maiden T20 century against Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday.

RR’s Riyan Parag became the second batter to cross 300 runs in the season with a quickfire cameo against KKR. Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson dropped to the fourth spot behind Narine.

On Monday, RCB star Virat Kohli extended his lead in the Orange Cap race after scoring a quickfire 42 off just 20 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday. Even Sunrisers’ Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head entered the top 10 with the latter scoring a century.

Every year when the Indian Premier League (IPL) season comes around, a lot of eyes are on the players who score the most number of runs in the season, thereby getting the Orange Cap.

Last season, current Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the Orange Cap with 890 runs. He was followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis who scored 730 and Chennai Super Kings Devon Conway with 672. RCB’s Virat Kohli was at number 4 with 639 while Yashasvi Jaiswal came in at 5 with 625.
