Kia ora, good afternoon and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Blues Women v Chiefs Manawa Super Rugby Aupiki final at Auckland's Eden Park.

The Blues won the right to host the final by finishing atop the competition table, but needed a late-season collapse by their rivals to achieve that.

Chiefs Manawa have qualified for all three finals since the competition began, winning the inaugural crown in 2022, but toppled in last year's title game by South Islanders Matatū - their first-ever defeat.

They were cruising ahead of the field two weeks ago, but stumbled to the Blues and Matatū to lose their homefield advantage, and must now try to recapture their throne on foreign soil.

Both sides are packed with Black Ferns, so a close contest is promised.
