IPL 2024 Points Table: SRH draw level with KKR, LSG and CSK after defeating PBKS, but stay in 5th spot

IPL Points Table 2024, Team Rankings: Punjab Kings almost pulled off victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a last-over thriller where 26 runs were scored and three catches were dropped. However, PBKS fell short by two runs in the end. It was a partnership of 66 runs from Shashank Singh (unbeaten 46) and Ashutosh Sharma (unbeaten 33) at the end of the game that almost dragged Punjab over the line.

Thanks to their victory, Sunrisers Hyderabad now have six points from five matches in IPL 2024. However, they’re still in fifth position in the standings with KKR, LSG and CSK all having six points but above them on better run rates.

Batting first on Tuesday, the Sunrisers Hyderabad had scored 182/9 at the new Mullanpur Stadium, thanks to Nitish Kumar Reddy’s 37-ball 64. Arshdeep Singh had been the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for 29 runs for Punjab.

The playoff scenario

RR, KKR, LSG and CSK are the four sides that are currently in the top four. The top four teams will qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs. The top two teams will play in the first Qualifier with the winner going straight into the final. The Eliminator will be played between the teams who are placed third and fourth in the IPL 2024 standings. The winner of the Eliminator will lock horns against the losing team of Qualifier 1. The winner of the Qualifier  2 will enter the final, which will be held at May 26.
