IPL 2024 Orange Cap: Kohli leads list with hundred in RCB vs RR match, Parag second

IPL 2024 Orange Cap Holder: Virat Kohli extended his lead at the top of the Orange Cap standings with his eighth IPL century on Saturday for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

Kohli has crossed 300 runs in just five outings this season. Meanwhile, Riyan Parag stands his second with 181 runs from three innings. On Thursday, Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 89 against Punjab Kings helped the Gujarat Titans skipper to move up to 4th in the Orange Cap race with 164 runs. Abhishek Sharma broke into the top five on Friday after a quickfire 37 against Chennai Super Kings.

Every year when the Indian Premier League (IPL) season comes around, a lot of eyes are on the players who score the most number of runs in the season, thereby getting the Orange Cap.

Last season, current Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill won the Orange Cap with 890 runs. He was followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Faf du Plessis who scored 730 and Chennai Super Kings Devon Conway with 672. RCB’s Virat Kohli was at number 4 with 639 while Yashasvi Jaiswal came in at 5 with 625.
