GT vs SRH Playing 11, IPL 2024: Natarajan comes in for Unadkat, Umesh and Saha to get another match

Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Playing 11, IPL 2024: A high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad led by World Cup winner Pat Cummins will take on last edition’s runners-up Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Both the teams have won one game each in the tournament so far. Titans under new captain Shubman Gill managed to snatch a victory from the jaw of defeat against Mumbai Indians but fell flat against Chennai Super Kings in their second match.

On the other hand, the explosive Sunrisers batting unit failed to cross the line against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens but they registered the highest team total in T20 history after scoring 277 for 3 against Mumbai Indians.

Natarajan for Unadkat

T Natarajan, who missed the fixture against Mumbai Indians due to a niggle will get his place back, if the left-arm seamer is fit and available. Natrajan bowled beautifully in Sunrisers’ first match against Kolkata, picking up 3 for 32. If he s fit, he would replace fellow left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat, who too bowled beautifully at the back of the innings against Mumbai Indians in a run feast.

GT to stick with Umesh

Umesh Yadav was tipped to fill the shoe of injured Mohammed Shami, but the veteran pacer has not been able to do it. In the two matches, he has conceded twelve runs per over and has managed only two wickets. Titans do have Kartik Tyagi in their rank and it would be interesting to see whether they will give him a chance or will stick with the experience of Umesh.

Will Saha get another chance?

Wriddhiman Saha is approaching 40. However, the wicketkeeper-batter is still as agile behind the stumps but it is the ability to give Titans a flying start in the powerplay has come under the scanner. In the first two games, he did contribute reasonably well with 21 and 19, respectively, but he looked all at sea against the quality pace of Jasprit Bumrah. Titans do have Matthew Wade, an overseas player, and BR Sharath, an uncapped Indian keeper in their wings but it is very unlikely that they will make any changes.
