Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala are engaged! Take a look at their relationship timeline

Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala had their engagement ceremony today at 9.42 AM. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna shared images of the couple posing together.

While Naga wore a white kurta pyjama, Sobhita wore a blush pink sari for the occasion adorned in traditional South Indian jewellery, along with a gajra in her hair.

““We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness.  God bless!,” the father of the soon-to-be groom said.

The couple have been the subject of romantic speculation for some time. According to reports, the couple were engaged in a private and low-key ceremony at Nagarjuna’s luxurious home, which spans over 4000 sq feet, in the upscale location of Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad.

The engagement comes after a period of courtship that is speculated to have begun months after Chaitanya’s separation from Samantha Ruth Prabhu in 2021. While the couple has maintained a relatively low profile, their public appearances together fueled rumours of a blossoming romance.

Rumours of their involvement first surfaced when the duo was spotted together at a London restaurant. A photograph featuring Sobhita seated at a table, while chef Surender Mohan posed with Chaitanya, quickly went viral. While the image was later deleted, it sparked intense speculation about their relationship.

Subsequent sightings of the couple in Europe further fueled the rumors. Their shared vacation photos and public appearances hinted at a growing closeness. In June of 2022, the couple were seen on a vacation in Europe, even going on a date night. “Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita were spotted in Europe at a wine tasting,” read the caption of a picture of the two on their date.

Chay’s enigmatic response to questions about Sobhita during an interview added to the intrigue surrounding their relationship. In a 2022 interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, when asked about his rumoured ladylove, he simply said, “I am just gonna smile.”

Despite attempts to keep their relationship private, fans were quick to connect the dots when the duo shared seemingly coincidental photos from a jungle safari, in April.

While neither actor had ever publicly confirmed their relationship, a source close to the couple had told the outlet days after these photos went viral, “Naga and Sobhita have found a happy place with each other, and are dating. They like to spend time with each other. They keep going on vacations together. However, they want to keep their private lives out of the public glare.”
