Like clockwork, TIME has come out with its annual list of the World’s Greatest Places 2024, throwing light on 100 extraordinary destinations to visit and stay. Three Indian destinations have been named on the list.

Museum of Solutions (MuSo), a unique children’s museum in Mumbai, Manam Chocolate, a factory in Hyderabad, and NAAR, a restaurant in Himachal Pradesh have been recognised in the prestigious list.

Located in the heart of Mumbai, MuSo is a one-of-a-kind place that offers a mix of theme-based exhibits, immersive experiences, learning and development programmes, creative tool-based labs, and a library with a curated collection of children’s books. The primary objective of the museum is to motivate children to think creatively and deliver a positive impact in their communities.

According to the TIME website, the museum spans 100,000 square feet in the Lower Parel district of Mumbai. The nonprofit has four distinct labs where kids ages two to 17 can experiment with math, physics, art, and other STEAM subjects.

“The museum also houses a 220-seat amphitheater, library, recycling center, café, and Luckey Climber (a three-dimensional interactive maze), and hosts a series of workshops offering practical experience in running a restaurant and other entrepreneurial endeavors,” it read.

“We are deeply honoured to be included in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places to Visit. This recognition is a testament to our dedicated staff, volunteers, and partners who have worked tirelessly to create a dynamic and engaging space that inspires action and change,” said Tanvi Jindal Shete, founder of Museum of Solutions in a press statement.

She attributed MuSo’s acknowledgment in this list in less than a year of starting operations, to the impact it has made so far. Jindal also showed gratitude and appreciation to all visitors till now and invited everyone to come and experience MuSo.

Manam Chocolate, owned by Chaitanya Muppala of Almond House fame, takes forward the family legacy of offering traditional sweetmeats. Compared to the widely revered Belgian and Swiss chocolates, Mulappa works closely with farmers and fermenters in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district to put Indian craft chocolates on a global platform.

Located in the Banjara Hills, Manam has been recognised by the International Institute of Chocolate and Cacao Tasting and U.K.’s Academy of Chocolate.

Last but not the least, Kashmir-bred Prateek Sadhu’s NAAR is the third entrant in the TIME list, bringing fine dining to the hilly terrains of Himachal Pradesh. Located at the Amaya boutique hotel, NAAR offers an interesting take on Himayalan cuisine, calling itself a destination restaurant.

Sadhu, riding off the high of his landmark restaurant Masque in Mumbai, told TIME that there’s no blueprint for choosing the location for a restaurant like this in India, which is “precisely what makes it all the more thrilling”.
