BJP Chief JP Nadda is all set to host a dinner party tonight for the incoming National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs. According to news agency ANI, the menu features an array of dishes perfect for combatting the summer heat. The dinner is set to take place following the swearing-in ceremony of the union council of ministers on Sunday evening.

Some of the highlights, ANI reported, are refreshing juices and shakes, stuffed litchi, matka kulfi, mango cream, and raita. These items seem to have specifically been chosen to provide a cooling effect, ideal for the warm weather.

In addition to the summer-specific treats, the menu offers a rich selection of traditional dishes. There will be Jodhpuri sabzi, a flavourful vegetable curry from Rajasthan, dal (lentils), and dum biryani, a slow-cooked rice dish infused with spices and aromatic herbs.

To accompany these main courses, five types of bread will be available, ANI reported, catering to diverse culinary preferences. A dedicated Punjabi food counter will also be present, featuring regional favourites that are sure to be a hit among the attendees.

For those with a preference for millet, the menu includes bajra khichdi, a nutritious dish made from pearl millet. This choice reflects the growing trend towards healthy eating and the inclusion of traditional grains in modern diets.

The beverage section is equally impressive, offering five types of juices and shakes, providing a refreshing complement to the meal. Additionally, three types of raita, a yoghurt-based side dish, will be available, enhancing the overall dining experience with their cooling and digestive properties.

Dessert enthusiasts are in for a treat with a selection of eight types of desserts. Highlights include white rasmalai, a popular Indian sweet made from paneer and soaked in creamy milk, and four varieties of ghewar, a traditional Rajasthani sweet.

Earlier in the day, MPs expected to be included in the new Council of Ministers attended a high tea at the Prime Minister’s residence. This gathering was an opportunity for the MPs to meet and interact with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, ahead of the evening’s formal swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
