Lassi and chaas, the cool and refreshing yoghurt drinks, are not just delicious but also packed with health benefits. And not to mention, they are summer’s perfect partner. 

Their cooling properties help regulate body temperature and provide a refreshing sensation while their high water content ensures optimal hydration, and electrolytes like potassium and sodium replenish those lost through sweat, explained Dr Trupti Padhi, a dietitian and certified diabetic educator.

She explained why incorporating a glass (or two) of these beverages into your daily routine can be a smart and tasty way to improve your overall well-being:

Though, lassi and chaas are generally safe for most individuals it’s always recommended to consult a healthcare professional if you have any underlying health conditions.

According to Dr Padhi, the recommended serving size for lassi or chaas is typically 1-2 glasses per day. This allows you to reap the health benefits without potential downsides, she added.
